Penny Monetti

Director, LPC, NCC, LPN, EMDRIA Approved EMDR Certified Practitioner and Consultant, Missouri CIT Specialized First Responder Treatment Provider, Certified Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapist
As an EMT working on an ambulance, fire department, and search and rescue unit in the Colorado Rocky Mountains in my younger days, I witnessed trauma firsthand. After receiving my nursing degree, raising three super-amazing kids as a military spouse of an Air-force pilot for 24 years, I witnessed how trauma and deployments were affecting the military community. I traveled to military installations nationwide, working with spouses of deployed veterans educating them about posttraumatic stress and resiliency. After becoming a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, the impact of trauma REALLY hit home when my son, a US Army military police officer, shared his traumatic experiences that were causing depression and suicidal ideations. I found his challenges, like many first responders, exceeded critical incidents. The moral injury that accompanies so many first responders and military personnel became apparent. This launched me into a relentless search to find the most effective modalities for treating depression, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, and moral wounds. After relentless research, I found the monumentally effective solution to be EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) coupled with Internal family Systems (IFS). I also integrate ketamine psychotherapy for complex trauma (for those who qualify and warrant treatment).

I am humbled and honored as I walk alongside my clients as they confront their harrowing experiences and/or stuck patterns with courage and commitment. Daily I witness clients freeing themselves from the bondage of being stuck in unhealthy thought patterns. And this is why I do what I do.

Some things others might no know about me is that I’m an avid storm watcher, an adventurist, nature and animal lover, scrabble junkie, author, and have an insatiable curiosity to learn, grow and connect with others through one-on-one presence, travel and cultural experiences.
